I've been doing them in the recommended order and I just got done with the Rumple route. I got the bad ending. I couldn't function for 5 minutes and I'm still crying a little

Not quite the same feel but there's a game on here called Andromeda Six. It's a chapter based dating sim/visual novel that's still in development (currently only chapters 1 and 2 are out). You get to choose between 3 races which mildly affects dialogue. There are 6 characters to choose from so far, 4 men and 2 girls, with personalities ranging from soft, to douchebag, to thirsty af, to loveable goofball. Mild swearing but nothing too obscene. You start on a spaceship with no memory of who you are or where you came from. The game itself gives off very heavy Firefly vibes.
